How to install Daedalus

Please ensure you download the Daedalus wallet from the official website.
Do not download any wallets from third party websites. There are scammers out there, trying to trick you into revealing your passphrase or asking you to send your ADA to them to stake.
The ADA in your wallet, does not leave your wallet once it is delegated. You remain in complete control. Please be vigilant and do not be fooled as cryptocurrency is not regulated.

Download the appropriate Daedalus wallet for your operating system. For the purpose of this exercise we are downloading Windows 8.1 and 10, 64 bit. Time of download version was 2.2.0.
Once the file has been downloaded, locate the file and double click the executable - daedalus-2.2.0-mainnet-14276.exe
You maybe prompted by a “User Account Control Message” stating that “iohk signed file” would like to make changes to your device. Click Yes
Click Install. We recommend installing, to the default file location.
Click Close. You will now notice a new shortcut on your desktop.
Double click the Daedalus Mainnet icon and the wallet will launch.
As the application is communicating with the outside world, you will receive a “Windows Security Alert” or an alert from your Anti Virus software – Click Allow access.
The wallet will require some customisation. The default settings are sufficient for our requirement
Continue reading through the terms and conditions and tick "I agree with the terms of service" and then click "Continue"
The Daedalus will sync in the background, depending on the speed of your internet and the size of the blockchain. Expect this process to take several hours.
